In 2021, I started hiking. In looking at the scenery during one of my hikes, I was inspired to create a short film called Ridge Run. Filming the short and the passing of some of my classmates and shipmates over the last few years has greatly increased an awareness to get active and get out and walk and exercise. Texas is filled with a vast amount of parks and nature preserves to walk and enjoy. However, I know that sometimes walking solo and going on these trails can be intimidating and scary for some. Therefore, I decided to start a run club, named after the film that first inspired me to start being active.
The Ridge Run Run Club is for people who want to run or walk but don't want to always do it solo. It is a way to enjoy exercising with others who enjoy the same activity and have the same outlook on being healthy and active. The goal of the run club is to meet at least two weekends a month sunny, rain, sleet or snow. Being healthy has no limitations. There's always somewhere you can walk and some way that you can be active.
We will explore all the different preserves and parks in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex each month. I will designate a new place to gather in the mailing list at the beginning of each month along with listing the times of the meets as well. To join the mailing list, fill out the signup box at the bottom of the page. If you would like to purchase any Run Club merch, click the link below.
